Shenzhen Avic City is not your ordinary store. Its design is inspired by the gentle ripples of a nearby river, the morning sun, and the afterglow of sunset. This inspiration is reflected in the store's ambiance, which is quiet, mild, and considerate, much like a grandmother's love. The store's unique properties lie in its light beige storefront and dark furniture, which are orderly, warm, and energetic. They do not steal the limelight, but they play an indispensable role in creating a welcoming environment.
The project, which covers a total of 105 square meters, is divided into four different spaces: a dining space, kitchen, electric room, open kitchen, and hallway. The interior is adorned with light yellow stone and dark wood grain strips, retro log furniture, all neatly arranged in line. These elements, combined with the warm lighting, create a warm and quiet atmosphere.
Denver Hsu and his team, including Suren Li and Lili Lan, started the project in June 2021 in Shenzhen and finished it in July 2021. The design process involved extensive research, particularly on the use of marble stone. The team used a protruding layer board structure of marble stone to enrich the content of the space, making it simple but elegant and enhancing the texture of the whole space.
One of the challenges the team faced was creating a design that would allow for more dialogue and white space between man and nature. They overcame this challenge by using a charbroil smoked aluminum plate as the base of the inclined top, which extends steadily to the ground. A touch of vibrant green blends perfectly with its surroundings on a heavy log base. The cream-colored linen curtain adds a graceful twist to the design.
The store front design, which combines smoky wood grain and vintage brass, is the first thing that catches the eye. The warm and clear image of Ah Ma Hand made, combined with plain raw materials and lush green leaves, makes the store unforgettable. The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
